Applied hydrogeology is worked on as an interdisciplinary subject area, the aim of which is the exploration of water resources, their dynamics and composition in alpine and extra-alpine areas.
In practice, hydrogeological methods are often applied in connection with infrastructural projects and construction measures (e.g. in the field of traffic route construction or water supply).
The concrete methods are very much oriented towards the geological-structural framework of the respective study area and describe the water paths, the genesis of the waters and the properties of the waters that can be derived from them.
