In the field of usage and protection of shallow porous groundwater resources numeric modelling of groundwater flow, material and heat transport is an indispensable tool in our service portfolio. Essential questions are the definition of peripheral inflow to the study area, the interactions of surface waters with groundwater systems and the spatial and temporal distribution of groundwater recharge with respect to different land-use. The problem of solute migration of spatial diffuse input sources, resulting in a nitrogen output from agricultural usage, was subject of recent method development, which optimized regional numeric modelling with regard to their uncertainties.
Resources of deep groundwater are especially protected, and should be reserved for emergency water supply. Their investigation and usage requires also geophysical methods, which will be ensured by external providers.
